I got a bit of a shock when I came back with the rental car in Auckland as Gabs came out to greet me, I had no idea she was coming back from the UK. It was her birthday and after a long drive north, we celebrated in style in a caravan in Paihia.



The next day we went to Waitangi and enjoyed our look around.

We caught the ferry over to Russell for lunch and walked up to the famous flagpole.

That night we went to a very nice pre wedding BBQ and the next day was the big day. James Patterson and Allison Corbett's wedding. It was a great day, a nice church and a good chance to catch up with a lot of people I hadn't seen for years.

On Sunday we drove down the Kauri coast to see the huge trees. We stayed the night just out of Auckland at a camping ground and flew back the next day after a good weekend.
